Tar éis do na Fir Bolg éalú ón sclábhaíocht sa tSean-Ghréig, tugann siad aghaidh ar a dtír dhúchais, ar Éirinn, agus rún acu athghabháil a dhéanamh uirthi. Go luath ina dhiaidh sin, tagann Tuatha Dé Danann i dtír in Éirinn agus fógraíonn a gceart féin ar an tír. Ní fada go mbíonn na Fir Bolg cloíte acu. Ach seo chugainn anois na Fomhóraigh, cine mímhéine an fhodhomhain, agus gabhann chucu féin tír na hÉireann. Gearrann siad cánacha troma ar Thuath Dé Danann agus faoi dheireadh, éiríonn siad amach. Cuireann Balor, taoiseach na bhFomhórach, cuireann sé arm chun gleo in éadan Thuatha Dé Danann agus a dtaoisigh siúd, Lúgh Lámhfhada, rud is cúis le cath de chathanna móra na staire.

Plot Summary

When the Fir Bolg escape from slavery in Greece, they turn homeward, to Ireland, intending to reclaim their native land. The Tuatha Dé Danann are hot on their heels however and announce their own claim to the country. Before long the Fir Bolg are overthrown. Then the Fomorians, an evil race of giants and monsters, arrive from  the underworld. They subdue the Tuatha Dé Danann and begin exacting heavy taxes from them. This soon leads to revolt. Balor, the great king of the Fomorians, sends his army against the Tuatha Dé Danann and their chosen chief, Lugh of the Long Arm, and the greatest battle of all begins.
